Fool Proof
“If you make it fool proof, they’ll build a better fool.”
It’s a well known quote that makes perfect sense and seems to bolster the notion that we live in a world where there are many a stupid person. And it is a great quote - except when it describes you.
Last month I managed to royally screw up WordPress’ ‘famous 5 minute install.’ Five minutes turned into 55 and before I knew it, my poor attempts at keeping a personal blog were met with what I thought was certain death. As if my infrequency in posting wasn’t a big enough hurdle.
Not quite sure what I did, but after leaving everything alone for over a month, I decided to come back and see if I could get things working. And it seems I have.
Now I’m back just in time to announce my upcoming absence. On Wednesday, Michi and I are heading out to Europe. Specifically, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France. We have a lot to cover in just two weeks, but I’m sure we’ll manage it.
If you’re one of the two people who read this and feel like seeing the pictures we end up taking on the trip, I plan to post them to my Flickr page as we take them. And if my Internet access is reliable enough, maybe I’ll even blog while I’m away.
Gotta make up for lost time, eh?
